The Weight of What Defines Us
Stop by to see what derives from a collaboration between myself, Megon Holldorf, and Angie Meyer.
Beginning today and throughout the week our installation will be up in room 418 in the 623 S. Wabash building.
After asking various individuals to “give up” objects they feel they could not live without, sacks were constructed to hold the received items. The collection of objects combined with the power of gravity comments about the influence of the material world on the human being. Each sack separately pertains to a different person, which spatially depicts the psychological weight these objects hold over the individual’s life.
Hope to bump into you there,
David
